Designed from an old Indian Chief liberty coin. With the Latin inscription "Memento Mori", which is an artistic or symbolic reminder of the inevitability of death. Memento mori jewellery with skull or coffin motifs became popular in the late 16th century. Interpretations of the expression differ throughout the ages. We find that to be the most significant element to this motif - that the interpretation, is upon the wearer.
The difference between the Gold and Brass will be the slow oxidisation/ageing of the Brass coin.

A stunning piece which was incredibly well made and a perfect gift for a dear friend
I was as a child is on Christmas day when the package arrived. Full of penned up anticipation, a bubble ripe to burst. Imagine when I saw the ring was so much more than anticipated: the pencil marked box, the ring newspaper, the ring size measuring thingy… and then absolut perfectly polished silver ring with the gold coin - I just sat there staring at it for a while trying to hold back all the happy noises but eventually failing and grunting und humming and shouting-out and laughing. I knew this a band for life.
And now I am about to get my third CHD ring, and the reasons behind it can only be felt, like sitting by a crackling chimney fire with the people you love and care for and who love and care for you after a deliciously savory diner… comforting, welcoming, bonding. A place you want to stay at and will always come back to.
Have been wearing it almost daily for the last couple years or so and still absolutely love it, gets plenty of compliments too.
